3 Day Discovering Loikaw

Day 1 Drive to Loikaw

Transferby car from Heho/Inle/Pindaya/Kalaw to Loikaw. The driving time is about 6 – 7 hours.
Loikaw, in Kayan State, where is famous for tribe with long-neck woman wearing many rings. This place also houses the Taungkwe pagoda, a stupendous complex of golden stupas resting on rocky massifs connected by small bridges, as well as some remarkable old monuments. Enjoy panoramic sunset view at Taungkwe Pagoda Hill.
Lunch and Dinner on own account. Overnight in Loikaw.

Day 2: Loikaw – Panpet – Pa Say Lar – Loikaw (around 6hrs trekking) (B,L)

This morning, we will start the day with one hour drive to Pa Say Lar Village in Dee Maw Soe Township. Arrive the village it’s time for about 6 hours wonderful trekking with breathtaking wide range of mountains to Panpet village to visit the long-neck women and explore their daily life. This village is the original home of the long neck “giraffe” woman – Kayan (Padaung) tribe with about 20 – 25 houses with women still wear the rings now. Spend time to chatting with local people and get to know more about their custom.
A lunch box will be served on the way.
After visit Panpet, we will drive back to Dee Maw Soe and visit Ngwe Taung Damn for sunset before back to your hotel.

Day 3 : Loikaw – Hpekon – Sagar - Inle (B)

Today we will explore Hpekon before take a boat to Sagar and Inle.
Located about 2 hours boating from Inle Lake, Sagar is a non-touristic area of beautiful lake and being one of the most charming area of Shan State with the backdrop of mountain, small villages and fishermen. The main attractive here is the “hollow” 108 Sagar stupas date from the 16th-17th centuries partially under water for a few months a year. Enjoy many magnificent view along the way and stop to visit local village and local monastery if you want.

There is home of Pa-Ohs, Shans and Inthar people call Thaya Gone village. It is well known for making the special local ricewine. You will also have chance to hiking to the top of a small hill in village for breathtaking view over the lake and other villages nearby.

If time permit, you can also stop to visit the SeaKhaung village for their pottery making or Kaung Tar with more than 200 stupas.

Another stop willbe made in the pottery village of SaeKhaung. On the western shores lies Kaung Tar where are more than 200 stupas.

Finally, boat to your hotel in Inle (or Nyuang Shwe Jetty if your hotel is in Nyaung Shwe) and conclude the trip. (Hotel in Inle or Nyaung Shwe is not included on tour price).
