High up in the west of Shan Plateau, Kalaw is an old hill station with a laid-back atmosphere, wonderful climate and scenic landscapes. At 8:30, the trek starts from hotel and walk in the town for some sightseeing and market visit for 45 minutes.
Afterward, we walk uphill in the pine forest to Lutpyin (a Danu village) for a round 2 hours. The Danu people grow mainly rice, ginger, pear, avocado and banana. All of them fresh, delicious.
After that, continue to Taungchay for for an half hour trek.
Along the way you can ask the locals to pose for some photos, they are not shy.
Another our and you reach Myinmahti Village with an fascinating lime stone cave with Buddha Images.
Lunch at the restaurant near the cave and take the car back to Kalaw for half an hour or walk back for 2 hours to Kalaw.
